Charlie Brown had an uncanny ability to be a constant loser and the butt of Lucy’s jokes and tricks. Lucy Van Pelt hated Charlie's dog Snoopy, and was in love with
pianist Schroeder. Schroeder, who always seemed to be undergoing an anxiety
attack, did not return her affections. Peppermint Patty was a tomboy and had a
crush on Charlie Brown, whom she called “Chuck.” Popular and outgoing Patty had
a shy buddy named Marcie, the girl who would always refer to her as, “Sir.” Linus
was a cute, thumb-sucking, blanket-carrier and was Charlie Brown's best
friend and Lucy’s kide brother. Lucy had another brother named "Rerun" and
there was also an African American boy named Franklin. And pigpen was the
dirty kid, never took a bath, I guess. Adults were never seen in the cartoons,
and when they spoke at all, they sounded like trumpets stuffed with cotton.
